At 16:00 (GMT+2), June data on the consumer confidence index in the euro area will be published. The indicator is based on a survey of 2.3K households that evaluate the prospects for the economy. It is a leading indicator of consumer spending. High numbers indicate consumer optimism and vice versa. The indicator is expected to slow down the negative dynamics from –21.1 points to –20.8 points, which may support the euro.
