At 16:00 (GMT+2), the August data on the consumer confidence index in the EU countries will be published. The indicator is calculated based on a survey of 2.3K households that assess the prospects for the economy. It is a leading indicator of consumer spending. High numbers indicate consumer optimism and vice versa. The indicator is expected to correct from –27.0 points to –28.0 points.
