The indicator measures the volume of all goods sold by retailers, based on a sample of retail stores of various types and sizes. It is an important indicator of consumer spending and has a significant impact on the gross domestic product (GDP). It is predicted that the indicator will slow down the negative dynamics from –2.8% to –2.2%, which, in turn, may support the Swiss currency.
