Producer price index. China, 03:30 (GMT+2)

At 03:30 (GMT+2), April data on the producer price index will be published in China. It is one of the main indicators of inflation in the country and consolidates the change in prices for goods and services sold by producers. It also shows the change in the cost of their production. The figure is expected to correct from –2.5% to –3.2% YoY.

It is the main indicator of inflation in the country and reflects the change in retail prices for a certain basket of goods and services (food, transport, utilities, healthcare, and so on). It has a significant influence on the decisions of the national financial regulator on monetary policy. It is expected that the indicator will correct from 0.7% to 0.3% YoY and from –0.3% to 0.0% MoM.
