At 03:15 (GMT+2), China will announce its decision on the base lending rate. Currently, the indicator is calculated by the National Interbank Finance Center (NIFC) and serves as a benchmark for financial institutions in calculating the percentage of loans and is formed on the basis of rates with two loan maturities: one year and over five years. If officials raise the rate from the current 3.65%, it will be “bullish” for the yuan.
