At 11:00 (GMT+2), April data on retail sales in the euro area will be published. The indicator monthly captures the aggregate of all goods sold by retailers, based on a sample of outlets of various types and sizes. It is an important consumer spending indicator that has a significant impact on the region’s gross domestic product. It is expected that the indicator will correct from –1.2% to 0.2% MoM and from –3.8% to –3.1% YoY, which, in turn, may put pressure on the euro.
