At 08:00 (GMT+2) in the UK, May data on retail sales will be published. The indicator monthly consolidates the volume of all goods sold by retailers and is based on samples of UK retail stores of different types and sizes. It is an important consumer spending indicator significantly impacting the gross domestic product (GDP). The indicator is expected to correct from 0.5% to –0.2% MoM and from –3.0% to –2.3% YoY, while the core value will decrease from 0.8% to –0.3% MoM and slow the negative dynamics from –2.6% to –2.1% YoY. Implementation of the forecast may put pressure on the pound.
