At 08:00 (GMT+2) in the UK, July data on retail sales will be published. The indicator consolidates the volume of all goods sold by retailers. It is calculated based on samples of UK retail stores of different types and sizes. It is an important indicator of consumer spending and has a significant impact on gross domestic product (GDP). The indicator is expected to correct from 0.7% to –0.5% MoM and from –1.0% to –2.1% YoY, while the core value will drop from 0.8% to –0.7% YoY and from –0.9% to –2.2% YoY. Implementation of the forecast may put pressure on the pound.
