At 09:55 (GMT+2), Germany will publish August data on changes in the number of unemployed citizens. The upward trend reflects weakness in the national labor market and hurts consumer spending and hence economic growth. It is expected that the August indicator will be adjusted from –4.0K to 10.0K.

It is the main indicator of inflation in the region and determines the change in retail prices for a certain “basket” of goods and services: food, transport, utilities, healthcare, having a significant impact on the decisions of the authorities on monetary policy. The CPI is expected to fall from 5.3% to 5.1% YoY and to remain at –0.1% MoM, while the core value will increase from –0.1% to 0.3% MoM and from 5.5% to 5.3% YoY.
