At 16:00 (GMT+2), preliminary data on the consumer confidence index in the Eurozone for October will be published. The indicator is calculated based on a survey of 2300 households that evaluate the prospects for the economy. This is a leading indicator for consumer spending. High numbers indicate consumer optimism and vice versa. It is expected that the pessimism of European consumers will continue to increase, and the index will decrease from ˗17.8 to ˗18.2 points. The implementation of the forecast can put pressure on EUR.
