The indicator reflects the state of business activity in the national manufacturing industry based on a survey of purchasing and supply managers of leading national enterprises in all industries. At the same time, their attitude to the current economic situation and prospects for its further development is assessed. The index is expected to rise from 44.3 points to 45.2 points in October, supporting the pound.
