At 01:50 (GMT+2), data on the Tankan sentiment index of large Japanese manufacturers for the fourth quarter of 2023 will be released. The indicator is published quarterly by the Department of Research and Statistics of Japan and is calculated based on a survey of managers of large Japanese manufacturing companies. The survey assesses economic parameters such as business conditions, supply and demand, production and sales, price levels, income, employment, investment, and tax conditions. The index is expected to grow from 9.0 points to 10.0 points, supporting the yen.
