Consumer price index. EU, 12:00 (GMT+2)

At 12:00 (GMT+2), December data on the consumer price index of EU countries will be published. It is the main indicator of inflation and determines changes in retail prices for a certain “basket” of goods and services: food, transport, utility costs, healthcare, etc. It has a significant impact on ECB decisions in the monetary policy. It may adjust from −0.6% to 0.2% MoM and from 2.4% to 2.9% YoY, while the core reading may rise from −0.6% to 0.4% MoM and drop from 3.6% to 3.4% YoY.
