At 11:00 (GMT+2), April data on the consumer price index of EU countries is due. It is the main indicator of inflation and determines changes in retail prices for a certain “basket” of goods and services: food, transport, utility costs, healthcare, and so on, and has a significant impact on the decision of the financial regulator in the field of monetary policy. The consumer price index may fall from 0.8% to 0.6% MoM and stay at 2.4% YoY, while the core reading may adjust from 1.1% to 0.7% MoM and from 2.9% to 2.7% MoM.
