At 01:50 (GMT+2), data on the Tankan large manufacturers and non-manufacturers sentiment index for Q3 2020 will be released in Japan. The indicator, published quarterly by the Department of Research and Statistics of Japan, is calculated on the basis of a survey of managers of large companies in the manufacturing and non-manufacturing sectors. The survey assesses such economic parameters as business conditions, supply and demand, production and sales, price levels, income, employment, investment, tax conditions. It is likely that the sentiment index for large manufacturers will be fixed at 13.0 points, and for non-manufacturers it will drop from 33.0 points to 32.0 points. If the forecast proves right, the yen may fall under pressure.
