At 16:00 (GMT+2), the May EU consumer confidence index is due, based on a survey of 2.3K households assessing the prospects for the economy. It is a leading indicator for consumer spending, its high values indicate consumer optimism, and vice versa. It may change from –16.7 points to –16.0 points, supporting the euro.
