At 12:00 (GMT+2), the UK will publish the June data on the CBI Retail Sales Index, based on a survey of representatives of 20.0K retail outlets and companies, including wholesale and retail trade. It is the main indicator of consumer spending and is the difference between the percentage of sellers who reported an increase in sales volumes and those who reported a decrease. It may fall from –27.0 points to –32.0 points, putting pressure on the pound.
