At 12:00 (GMT+2), the UK will publish August data on the retail sales index from the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), which is based on a survey of representatives of 20.0 thousand retail outlets and companies, including wholesale and retail trade. It is a leading indicator of consumer spending and represents the difference between the percentage of retailers reporting an increase in sales volumes and those reporting a decrease. The negative dynamics are expected to continue from –34.0 points to –28.0 points, which may put pressure on the pound.
