At 09:30 (GMT+2), Switzerland will publish its October consumer price index data. It is the main indicator of the level of inflation in the country and determines changes in retail prices for a certain basket of goods and services (food, transport, utility costs, healthcare, etc.), and also has a significant impact on decisions on monetary policy. The monthly figure is expected to rise from –0.2% to –0.1%, while the annual figure is expected to remain at 0.2%. Overall, inflationary pressures in the country remain very low, opening up the possibility for the Swiss National Bank to further reduce borrowing costs.
