At 09:55 (GMT+2), April data on the index of business activity in the manufacturing sector in Germany will be published. The indicator is based on a survey of purchasing and supply managers of leading national enterprises in all industries while assessing their attitude to the current economic situation and the prospects for its further development. The index is expected to remain at 44.0 in April.

It is the main indicator of inflation in the region and determines the change in retail prices for a certain “basket” of goods and services: food, transport, utilities, and healthcare, having a significant impact on the decisions of the authorities on monetary policy. The consumer price index is expected to correct from 6.9% to 7.0% YoY, and it will remain at 0.9% MoM, while the core value will decrease from 1.3% to 1.1% MoM and remain at 5.7% YoY.
