At 11:00 (GMT+2), June data on the consumer confidence index in the euro area will be published. The indicator is based on a survey of 2.3K households that assesses the prospects for the economy. It is a leading indicator for consumer spending and high readings indicate consumer optimism and vice versa. It is expected that the June indicator will correct from –17.4 points to –16.1 points. Implementation of the forecast may still put pressure on the euro.
