The euro against the Swiss franc currency pair consists of two European currencies highly popular with Forex traders with the euro being the second most traded and the Swiss franc the seventh most traded currency.

The euro is the official currency of most member states of the European Union. The eurozone, as the group of European states using the euro is known, includes approximately 350 million people and has a diversified and complex economy. The euro is popular with Forex traders. It is the second-most traded currency in the world after the U.S. dollar. Any major crisis in one or several member states of the European Union will affect the rate of the euro. When conducting a fundamental analysis of the currency, the economic indicators of Germany, France, Italy and Spain should be considered first as having the most weight in the eurozone economy.

The Swiss franc is the currency of Switzerland. It is legal tender in Switzerland, Liechtenstein and Campione d'Italia. The currency is viewed as a financial refuge because of the stability of the government and financial system of Switzerland. The financial markets in the country are properly regulated and transparent which also leads to the CHF being used as a safe-haven.

Factors affecting the EUR/CHF rate include general economic indicators, such as information on employment, inflation data, retail sales, industrial production, trade balance and the release of GDP data, as well as the central bank decisions regarding the interest rates in the Eurozone and Switzerland. Political events, natural disasters and various government policies can impact the EUR/CHF exchange rate significantly.

Interesting facts about the EURCHF (Euro to Swiss Franc)

The EUR/CHF is one of the most stable pairs. Still, it's not recommended for newbie traders as any cross pair hides risks of increased market fluctuations. Moreover, it's more challenging to predict the direction of EUR/CHF than of any major pair.

The Euro is the national currency of 19 EU member countries. Moreover, it's the second most popular currency traded on the Forex. Although the EUR is quite young, the EU economy makes its price stable enough for trading.

Although Switzerland is located in Europe, it's not an EU member. Thus, it has its own domestic currency. It's the Swiss franc or CHF. The Swiss franc is also used in Lichtenstein, an Italian town Campione d'ltalia.

The Swiss franc is much older than the Euro. It was created in 1798 on par with the French franc. However, the current CHF only appeared in 1850. The Swiss franc is hardly counterfeit. There is a higher chance that the Euro will be counterfeit than the CHF. According to statistics, only 1 in 100,000 Swiss bills is counterfeit. At the same time, 1 in every 20,000 euros is fake. The 1000-franc banknote is one of the highest valued notes in the world.

The EUR/CHF rate may change significantly in times of political and economic uncertainty. The Swiss franc is a safe-haven currency that increases when market sentiment is negative and declines in times of risk-on sentiment. As Switzerland participates neither in political or economic conflicts, the CHF is barely moved by such a fundamental factor as the news.

As both Swiss and European markets are active during the London trading session, it's recommended to trade the EUR to CHF from 16:00 to 20:00 (GMT+3, indicated in LiteFinance trading platform).
